Richie Henderson has been promoted to assistant coach by Oklahoma State women's basketball head coach Kurt Budke.
Budke made the announcement yesterday, saying Henderson is a "rising star in the coaching business."
Henderson fills the vacancy left when Kenya Larkin left the Cowgirls after three years to take an assistant coaching job at Louisiana State.
Henderson is from Hartshorne and joined the staff at his alma mater last season as a graduate assistant coach. Before that, he worked in the Stillwater school system.
One of Budke's former players at Louisiana Tech, Amber Metoyer, will replace Henderson as the Cowgirls' graduate assistant.
