Kendall Hunter rushed for 107 yards and two touchdowns and the defense limited limited Washington State to less than 200 total yards as Oklahoma State routed the Cougars 39-to-13 Saturday in Seattle.
The Cowboys raced out to an 18-0 lead early in the third quarter behind a trio of Dan Bailey field goals, an 11-yard touchdown run by Hunter and a safety by Jeray Chatham.
The Cougars finally got on the board late in the third quarter on a 9-yard touchdown pass from Gary Rogers to Brandon Gibson. But, the ensuing kickoff was returned 90 yards for a touchdown by Perrish Cox.
OSU quarterback Zac Robinson completed 20-of-27 passes for 193 yards and was intercepted once. He rushed for a score in the fourth quarter and had 11 yards on eight attempts.
WSU was led by Rogers, who had both a touchdown pass and a scoring run.
Up next for Oklahoma State is the home opener against Houston next Saturday in Stillwater. Houston opened the regular season Saturday night at home against Southern.
