When most of us hear the combination, we're expecting the punch line of joke to follow. But this weekend, the pair will team up for an important cause. They're raising money for the Special Olympics.
Last year the Cops on Doughnut Shops campaign raised $27,000 for Special Olympians.
Everything is going so well this year, they hope to raise a lot more than that. Cop cars, a doughnut shop, and flashing patrol car lights always attract a big crowd of police volunteers. And also, people who want to help them.
This weekend, Tulsa's Krispy Kreme will sell an additional 15,000 glazed doughnuts a day.
The cops on the roof lower a bucket on a rope to get donations for Special Olympians.
Some officers work the entire weekend.
Officer Mark Wollmerhauser says, "17 hours today, 17 hours tomorrow, and about 7 hours on Sunday, about 41 hours."
Mark does this for his daughter. He says Special Olympics has made a big difference in her life. His daughter is no longer shy.
"It's all due to Special Olympics. It builds through self esteem. It just puts them out in society. It's a great opportunity for all of them."
This fundraiser helps 9,500 Special Olympians. People like Al Talley, a medal winning speed skater.
"So it can help us go to different events, meet other athletes from different counties, different areas."
And all the money raised helps those special athletes in this area.
The cops will be at Krispy Kreme until midnight Friday, and Saturday night. And Sunday from 6am to noon.
