Officials at Arkansas and Texas are discussing their options in case Hurricane Ike affects the Razorbacks-Longhorns game scheduled for 2:30 p.m. Saturday in Austin.
The hurricane is projected to make landfall Saturday on the south Texas coast.
Austin is not in directly in the projected path of the storm, but traffic could be heavy from evacuees, or law enforcement officers may not be available to work the game. When Hurricane Gustav was threatening Louisiana, LSU moved up to 10:30 a.m. its kickoff with Appalachian State.
Officials say Arkansas and Texas are staying in communication but it's too soon to decide on a plan.
Both school have Sept. 27 as an open date which could be used if Saturday's game needs to be rescheduled.
