Lawton police have recovered several artifacts stolen earlier this month from a county fair display and arrested a 61-year-old man in connection with the theft.
A police report says Lindon Myers of Lawton told police he took the animal pelts from the Comanche County fairgrounds and traded some of them for methamphetamine.
Among the missing items were a jaguar skin, sea otter pelt, cobra belt and an ashtray made from an elephant's foot.
During a search of a Lawton apartment police recovered a crocodile purse, the cobra belt and buffalo, bobcat, jaguar and badger hides.
