New Oklahoma State basketball coach Travis Ford would have to pay the university $1 million if he leaves before the end of his seven-year contract.
Terms of the deal call for Ford to receive about $9.1 million over the course of the contract, which runs through June 2015.
The university released the contract yesterday after an open records request by The Associated Press.
Ford's base salary will be $252,400, and he will receive $25,000 raises each July 1, starting in 2009.
Under a talent and personal services deal with the university, he will receive $650,000 annually, with a $75,000 raise each July 1. The university also will give $400,000 a year to a retirement program for Ford.
Perks in the contract include a school vehicle and paid membership fees at Karsten Creek Golf Club.
