Tulsa - Former Oklahoma State running back Tatum Bell has signed with the Florida Tuskers of the upstart United Football League.
The Tuskers are one of four teams who will play in the inaugural season. The others include the California Redwoods, Las Vegas Locomotives and New York Sentinels.
Bell started at Oklahoma State for three seasons, rushing for more than 34-hundred yards in his career, which ranked him sixth on the OSU all-time list.
He was selected by the Denver Broncos in the second round of the 2004 NFL Draft. His best season in Denver came during the 2006 season when he rushed for 1,025 yards.
But in March 2007, Bell was traded to the Detroit Lions. His time with the Lions was a turbulent one. After being released in September 2008, he was accused by Lions running back Rudi Johnson of stealing his luggage.
Bell says it was a simple mistake.
Bell re-signed with the Broncos two months later, but was not re-signed after the season was over.
