Tulsa - Three people are killed and a fourth seriously injured when their truck goes over a cliff at a Tulsa rock quarry.
The accident happened early Saturday morning at the quarry near 129th E. Ave. and 46th St. N.
EMSA was notified about a crash around 3:30 a.m., but they could not find it. The lone survivor was able to call 911 about an hour after the crash.
Amanda Stone, 19, of Cleveland, Okla. gave rescuers enough information to locate the wreckage. EMSA released portions of the 911 call.
Amanda: I was going through a whole bunch of stoplights and the stoplights stopped. I was going through just a regular paved road that had patches all over it and I was going south and I blacked out and I don't remember!
Operator: Now you said the road had what on it?
Amanda: Like, filled in bumps and there's a cliff!
Tulsa police said it appeared the truck's occupants had been drinking.
According to the police report, the truck crashed through a gate at the mining complex and crashed upon 2 boulders.
It teetered on the boulders and then fell nearly 125 feet to the bottom of the mining pit.
All the people in the truck were ejected. Twenty-five-year-old Troy Adams, 28-year-old Mark Gaches and 21-year-old Andrea Merriman all died at the scene.
Amanda Stone is currently in intensive care at a Tulsa hospital.
