Tulsa - Daniel Truelove scored all three Okmulgee touchdowns as the Bulldogs won at Cushing, 20-7 Friday night.
The Bulldogs (2-0) won despite making just four first downs and being outgained by more than 80 yards in total offense. But, they forced six turnovers, including four recovered fumbles.
Truelove put Okmulgee on the board in the first quarter on an 8-yard run, then added a pair of TD catches in the second quarter (12 and 11 yards) to give the Bulldogs a 20-0 edge at halftime.
Cushing finally got in the end zone in the third quarter whhen D.J. McKinney scored on a 13-yard run.
The Bulldogs are 2-0 for the first time since 2005, when they started the season 4-and-1. But, they missed the playoffs that season and haven't made a postseason appearance since going 6-and-4 in 2003.
It's going to be a difficult task for Okmulgee to run their winning streak to three games. They host top-ranked Glenpool next week.
Cushing (0-2) will look for its first win of the season when the Tigers host Perkins-Tryon (1-1) next Friday.
