Oklahoma City - The Oklahoma Lottery is about to get some new competition, and members of the Oklahoma Lottery Commission plan to develop a strategy to deal with it.

The commission meets Tuesday afternoon to discuss possible action regarding budgets and strategic plans for the Oklahoma Lottery through 2012.

A new state lottery in Arkansas is scheduled to start selling lottery tickets on Monday. Managers of the Oklahoma Lottery say that could threaten lottery sales by Arkansas residents at retailers in far eastern Oklahoma.

They have asked state lawmakers to do away with a requirement that 35 percent of lottery sales go to education to free up more money for prizes and increase sales in Oklahoma. But lawmakers have refused to consider the idea.

Remember when you folks voted in the lottery? The money was guaranteed by the so called lawmakers to go to schools. Why then is there a school money problem all over the state. Can anyone say "irresponsibilty is rampant is state government"? Very good. Hmm.

I VOTED AGAINST THE LOTTERY.  IT'S NOTHING BUT TROUBLE AND PROBLEMS FOR OUR STATE.
