Fort Sill Soldier Dies In Training Accident

A training-related incident at Fort Sill Thursday has resulted in the death of a soldier. It happened at about 3 p.m. at the Lawton military installation's east range. Exactly what happened isn't known, but the soldier was transported to the Troop Medical Clinic and later to Comanche County Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The soldier's name has not been released, but officials said he was a member of Battery A, 1st Battalion, 40th Field Artillery.
