Mounds Superintendent Gary Lundy told News Channel 8 no decision has been made regarding the classes affected by the blaze. The cause of the fire that destroyed several classrooms, may not be known until at least Monday. Because of the severity of the fire, the Oklahoma State Fire Marshall said it is not safe for investigators to enter the structure to determine where it started.
Two fire fighters received non-life threatening injuries while fighting the flames.

Fire fighters from several local departments spent eight hours fighting a fire at Mounds Elementary School Saturday.
Mounds Fire received a call stating one of the schools was on fire. When fire fighters arrived they found smoke and flames shooting out of the town's only elementary school.
Mounds Fire called for assistance from several local fire departments. Those from Sapulpa, Okmulgee, Kiefer, Beggs, Jenks and Glenpool worked with Mounds to put out the massive fire.
Local residents did their part to save what they could. They were seen using garden hoses to fight the fire, as well as carrying computers or whatever they could of the school.
No other structures appear to have been damaged by the fire, but a .
