A local auto collision repair company is closing down for good. Fox Collision Centers is closing its doors. They have five locations in Tulsa and also have shops in the Oklahoma City area, Kansas and Arkansas.
NewsChannel 8 received an e-mail from the company's president stating "We closed the doors on Fox Collision Centers. But, there is a much bigger story here than just a locally owned regional company going out of business."

The president also released a four-page letter that raises more questions regarding the closure. We learned the company blames the insurance companies. They say they had an agreement -- and what is called direct repair programs -- where insurance companies and body shops work together. But, it didn't quite work out.
The owner says insurance companies were forcing him to provide the cheapest and quickest repairs for cars. He says they were sacrificing safety and quality. On top of that, he says the insurance companies were stealing his profits.
He says the program would be like doctors working with insurance companies getting patients in quickly for surgery, looking good on the outside, but a botched treatment on the inside. They wouldn't know the true damage until later.
The owner says he plans to work with two employees to open another body shop in the near future. At one of the Tulsa locations, a note on the door says it is in the process of contacting the insurance companies involved. If your repair did not involve an insurance company, you can call 1-405-370-7164.
