As for the quality of repairs, I know for a fact that the vehicles that left our shop were high quality, top notch, safe and clean condition. We took pride in our shop, no matter who's name was on it.
As for FixedOn66's comment that Fox cared for his employees, tell me this...why didn't he give us a heads up so we didn't have to scurry around like mice trying to get vehicles handled and our personal items out? Why didn't he tell us that due to whatever reason the doors would be closing in say a couple of weeks and allow us to start hunting for jobs? Why when we went to the unemployment office to sign up did we find that he had not paid into the states unemployment compensation program? BIG surprise! He didn't pay anything else, why should he pay that?
There are vendors all over the 3 states who have huge outstanding balances that will probably never see a dime...some of these are small mom and pop companies. I hope the Government is involved...at least they will have a chance at recovering some of their loss.
Let Todd Fox blame who he will...his "past" employees know the truth about him. And what goes around ...comes back around! Thanks for nothing!
I agree with Listen Up that the problems with insurance ARE real. (I did go on well over 2000 characters about that but had to delete it. )
However they are not real enough to put a shop out of business unless you let it do so. Fox could have expanded to fast, slipped on quality control, or done any of the other mistakes bankrupt companies have made. I?ll just say that Fox can't blame the whole thing on insurance or else every shop in town would be out of business. Regarding your cars; I've heard that Farmers took many of their insureds cars out of Fox on Saturday and took them to other DRP shops. I've also heard that as of this morning State Farm vehicles were still at Fox facilities but SF is doing everything to get them out. I drove to the 61st, 51st and 41st locations and it seemed the 41st & Sheridan location was the only location with any life. It looked like many of the vehicles were in that lot and I saw people in the office at the time I was there. If you are desperate and haven't received any information you might start there.
I will say that this has happened before in California with a similar large chain and Fox seems to be handling it much better. In CA they just locked the gates and didn't even tell their employees. Their tools were locked up for a week so they couldn't even work anywhere else. Most of the Fox technicians were told to come for their tools on Saturday morning. Because they thought enough of their employees I believe they will try to get cars out as quickly as possible.
Remember that if you insurance company encouraged you to go to Fox they would do well to keep you in your rental car at their cost until this all gets settled. It WILL take time to get your car out, into production at another shop and completed. For some it will be like starting from scratch.
Good luck and best wishes to you all. You WILL be taken care of in time.
Medical Health insurance companies are doing the same thing. In speaking to staff at a Tulsa area hospital, insurance companies are doing things that "push" patients out of the hospital sooner, THEN if they may need home assistance, they often will pay for it.
Think about it.... IF you were an open heart surgery patient, and sent home in three days....in lieu of the previous policy of 4-5 days, and you had heart problems at home, would you want to wait possibly 20-30 minutes for an ambulance to pick you up, plus the time traveled to the hospital?..and wait in ER, or stay right there in the hospital where the staff AND equipment is RIGHT THERE???
Auto insurance companies seem to be doing the same thing, all for the sake of the "dollar".
There is nothing wrong with running a company to be as profitable as possible, but when quality and possible repercussions of a major surgery is involved, reducing those benefits under those circumstances is wrong!
