Weeks ago, Chad Markel (GM of Fox Collision) started remodeling the 41st Street shop using Fox Collision money, getting ready for Fox Body Shop. Employees asked questions, but we were told that they were making these changes because the accounting department was going to move in there. Even when Auto Glass by Fox closed its doors a week or two ago, Chad told us that there was nothing to worry about. So many lies, Chad.
I put my heart and soul into Fox Collision. I wanted to retire with this company. And I'm not the only one, I am one of many employees who felt this way about Fox. We were like a big family.
The 830-2051 HR hotline that is supposed to give employees updates on when they can expect to get paid for work already done, vacation time, etc. has not been updated since Saturday morning. On the recording Jody Fox promises to give another update on Monday, she never did. It is only fair that we get paid for the last week we worked!
I don't know how the new entity, Fox Body Shop is going to make it. Now that everything is out in the open and everyone knows the truth about how Fox Collision closed its doors, no one will ever trust them. Not customers, insurance compnies or vendors. There has been so much bad publicity. These stories will follow Todd and Chad for as long as they are in the body shop industry.
And to the Fox employees go to the labor board get paid your overtime from the day you started at fox you will get it...I DID!
There is more to this than what is coming out right now
His statement is for the rest of you that don't know the details of how DRP's work.
He infers almost explicitly that other body shops are caving in to some great pressure to turn out bad work, just as long as it's timely.
How offensive. I take great pride in my work, as well as my fellow technicians.
There are problems with the insurance industry that he does address acurately.
In the end though, that didn't close him down.
What goes around Todd, comes around. Thanks for messing up your employees holiday season, we know you won't hurt for a Christmas dinner yourself, God forbid that day. Sleep well for what you've done! Insurance companies!!! HAH!
I agree with Listen Up that the problems with insurance ARE real. (I did go on well over 2000 characters about that but had to delete it. )
However they are not real enough to put a shop out of business unless you let it do so. Fox could have expanded to fast, slipped on quality control, or done any of the other mistakes bankrupt companies have made. I?ll just say that Fox can't blame the whole thing on insurance or else every shop in town would be out of business. Regarding your cars; I've heard that Farmers took many of their insureds cars out of Fox on Saturday and took them to other DRP shops. I've also heard that as of this morning State Farm vehicles were still at Fox facilities but SF is doing everything to get them out. I drove to the 61st, 51st and 41st locations and it seemed the 41st & Sheridan location was the only location with any life. It looked like many of the vehicles were in that lot and I saw people in the office at the time I was there. If you are desperate and haven't received any information you might start there.
I will say that this has happened before in California with a similar large chain and Fox seems to be handling it much better. In CA they just locked the gates and didn't even tell their employees. Their tools were locked up for a week so they couldn't even work anywhere else. Most of the Fox technicians were told to come for their tools on Saturday morning. Because they thought enough of their employees I believe they will try to get cars out as quickly as possible.
Remember that if you insurance company encouraged you to go to Fox they would do well to keep you in your rental car at their cost until this all gets settled. It WILL take time to get your car out, into production at another shop and completed. For some it will be like starting from scratch.
Good luck and best wishes to you all. You WILL be taken care of in time.
