A former Mountain Park city clerk and treasurer accused of embezzling thousands of dollars in utility bills makes an initial appearance in a Hobart courtroom. Kimberly Morris surrendered to police on Friday after a warrant was issued for her arrest. She was released on $25,000 bond and was ordered to appear in Kiowa County District Court December 18th.
Kiowa County prosecutors charged the 27-year-old after a report from State Auditor Jeff McMahan's office found more than $76,000 missing from the city's utility funds.

District Attorney John Wampler requested the audit last June after residents of Mountain Park complained they were receiving cutoff notices from Oklahoma Natural Gas despite having paid their bills on a computer at City Hall.
Morris is accused of accepting the payments and writing receipts for the customers, but not making the deposits.
Sheriff Buck Jones said the crimes allegedly occurred between June 2004 and May.
Jones says the money hasn't been recovered.
