Tulsa - One of the nation's biggest football rivalries kicks off Saturday on NewsChannel 8. The OU Texas rivalry takes shape Saturday in Dallas.
Lots of fans are flying down to Dallas to watch in person. Others will watch it right here in Tulsa.
At Brookside's newest bar and restaurant they're gearing up for their first big test.
“This is our third weekend open and we're being hit with OU- Texas. We've got 2 dollar beers and a special game day menu.” said J.L. Lewis with Leon's
Lots of area bars and restaurants are offer game day specials, and some fans are already celebrating. 1. OU grad Tyler Perrin is wearing his team colors
“I gotta get revved up we're going to fly down there tomorrow we're fired up about it.”
But Tyler is not alone. Just a few tables over Julie is planning her wardrobe for tomorrow's game.
“Oh, definitely burnt orange.”
And for good reason Julie is a graduate of the University of Texas.
“When we don't go to Dallas we watch the game here and a few years back when Texas won I was one of the few rooting for them.”
Meanwhile, back at Leon's they've got 19 flat screen TV's and high hopes.
“There should be a ton of o-u fans and a few rooting for Texas.”
And doors open early. They begin serving at 9 am.
