Tulsa - The University of Tulsa women's tennis team posted a 17-and-4 combined overall record on Friday in the first day of the Razorback Invitational in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
That 17-4 record included a perfect 4-and-0 in doubles competition.
After a first round bye, Alexandra Kichoutkin advanced to the semifinals by defeating Oklahoma State's Iryna Khatso, 6-2, 6-4.
Ewa Szatkowska defeated Kansas State's Maryna Chumak 6-1, 6-1 in the first round, but fell to Arkansas' Anouk Tigu 6-2, 6-3 in the quarterfinals.
Rebecca Row was also victorious in the first round, defeating K-State's Karla Bonacic 6-1, 6-1, but lost to Arkansas' Ekaterina Lukomskaya in the quarterfinals, 6-3, 6-3.
In White Singles, the Hurricane posted a 9-and-1 record. All five TU players -- Anastasia Erofeeva, Marta Marcinkowska, Caroline Beaulieu, Jie Zeng and Meredith Burns posted wins in the first round. The only loss in the quarterfinals came when Beaulieu defeated Zeng 6-3, 6-0.
All four of Tulsa's doubles teams advanced to Saturday's quarterfinals. They are JoAnne Karaitiana and Alexandra Kichoutkin, Caroline Beaulieu and Jie Zeng, Anastasia Erofeeva and Ewa Szatkowska and Marta Marcinkowska and Rebecca Row.
Competition continues through Sunday.
