The University of Tulsa women’s tennis team sent two doubles teams and two singles players into their respective flight finals on Saturday at the Razorback Invitational in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
In Red Singles, 118th-ranked junior Alexandra Kichoutkin defeated Arkansas’ Emily Carbone, 6-4, 7-5, in the semifinals to advance to the finals tomorrow where she will face 59th-ranked Anouk Tigu of Arkansas. Tigu won her semifinal match against sophomore Anastasia Erofeeva, 7-6 (4), 6-4.
Senior Marta Marcinkowsa topped freshman teammate Meredith Burns, 2-6, 6-0, 7-6 (8), in the White Singles semifinals to move onto the finals. She will face Kate Lukomskaya of Arkansas who defeated sophomore Caroline Beaulieu, 6-2, 6-0.
The doubles competition was split into two draws on Saturday, and Tulsa will be represented in each draw final tomorrow with wins from JoAnne Karaitiana/Alexandra Kichoutkin and Anastasia Erofeeva/Ewa Szatkowska.
Karaitiana and Kichoutkin defeated Kansas State’s Antea Huljev and Nina Sertic, 8-4, in the North Doubles semifinals. Erofeeva and Szatkowska beat Sasha Belova and Nataliya Shatkovskaya of Oklahoma State, 9-7, in the South Doubles semifinals.
The Razorback Invitational concludes Sunday at the George M. Billingsley Tennis Center and Dills Indoor Stadium on The University of Arkansas campus in Fayetteville, Ark.
