Pryor - A Pryor man ends up in the hospital after he fails to let a Mayes County Sheriff's cruiser pass him.
Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers said 35-year-old Robert Beattie was hit on the drivers side by Mayes deputy Christopher Fogleman.
The accident happened at the intersection of County Road 435 and Lori Lane just east of Pryor.
Both vehicles were traveling north on CR 435. OHP trooper Roy Thilges said Deputy Fogleman was attempting to pass Beattie's truck when he pulled his pickup into the path of Fogleman's cruiser. He was responding to a domestic violence call with lights and siren activated
Beattie was transported to a Tulsa area hospital in stable condition with injuries. His 10-year-old son was also in the truck, but unharmed.
Deputy Fogleman, 34, sustained an arm injury and was released from a local hospital.
All three were wearing their seat belts.
Oklahoma law requires that drivers pull over to the right and either stop or slow down when emergency vehicles are responding with lights and siren on.
