Wichester, OK - A man driving the wrong way on a major highway causes a fatal head-on crash.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol said 33-year-old Jeremy West of Mounds was driving southbound on the north side of Highway 75 near 201st St. S Friday night.

Beggs Police, Okmulgee County, Tulsa County and Creek county all attempted to catch up to West, but he crashed head-on into 24-year-old Rowdy Hartley's pickup.

The collision happened near 241st St. S around 10:45pm.  It took 20 minutes to free both men from their vehicles with the Jaws of Life. West was pronounced dead at the scene.

Hartley, of Weatherford, was taken to a Tulsa hospital and is listed in stable condition.

Rowdy is my cousin and I thank God he survived!  I saw the trucks both of them at the scene Friday night, and I know that it was only by the grace of God that he survived.  I offer my prayers to the West family.  There are something we may never understand about this accident.  But I am thankful that my cousin was wearing his seatbelt and survived!  He had Jesus and his angels with him on that night!
