Saturday it kicked off "Healthy for the Holidays."
The goal is to help everyone avoid gaining weight this time of year.
Jacob and Julie Johnston are taking a tour they hope will change their lives. They've signed up for the Y's Healthly for the holidays.
They've committed to either maintain their weight over the holidays or not gain at all.
Jacob says, "It just seemed like the right time to do it, holidays, tendency to eat way too much. It's cold out, lazy, need somewhere to go to work out."
Wife, Julie just gave birth to their second child. She says ready to take off the extra pounds and has come to the right place, employees committed to her success.
"I hope that we change their lives impact their lives I think if you get yourself into a routine a habit 7 weeks plenty of time to do so they can obtain that healthy lifestyle," says Kyle Wilkes with the Dickenson YMCA.
The healthy for the holidays program includes 25 visits to the any area YMCA, giving participants access to pools, gymnasiums and classes on nutrition, stress management and group exercise.
Wilkes says, "We just want to do our best to saturate our community to deal with obesity rate to come to YMCA help them with some of their goals."
Oklahoma is near the very bottom when it comes to obesity. This year the Y wants to help change this one person at a time.
For non-members, there's a $25 fee to enroll. It's free for members.
The 7 week program ends January 3. Those who meet their goals, will be entered in a drawing for a free one-year membership.
