Tulsa - So often, we only hear about the numbers associated with the jobless rate and we don't see the faces. But behind every number, there's a real person who lost a job and now struggling to find another one.

Recently, we met with more than a dozen of them, and listened to each of their stories. Our goal is very simple -- help them find a job. They all agreed to sit down with us and answer three basic questions -- what are you looking for, what are your skills, and what sets you apart from the rest.

Like millions of others facing the same situation, they were nervous. They haven't been in the job hunt for years, and now they need help.

Today, we focus on Griffin Wright, who is looking for work in Networking or Computer Repair.

Name:
Griffin Wright

Position Desired:
Networking or Computer Repair

Experience/Employment History:
I have most recently worked for Wal-Mart in the pets department. Before that, I worked for Alorica helping customers of Sprint with their phone problems. My first job was working for KKI Inc. of Coffeyville setting up Coffeyville's wireless network.

Educational Background:
I graduated from South Coffeyville High School in May of 2007. I graduated from Tri-County Technology Center the same year. I then went to Coffeyville Community College for one year and left in May 2008.

What sets you apart from others in your field of work?
I am a quick learner. I have large amounts of focus. I work well with people and machines. I work quickly when needed and always manage to get the job done right.

I have never before been so underwhelmed by a job applicant.  Just on appearances alone I would not hire that kid.  I like my employees to have washed hair, in addition to clear-cut skills.  That was the most generic, uninformational "interview" I've ever heard.  "I'm very skilled in TRAINING???"  What is that supposed to mean.  I swear, this generation of young people have the absolute worst verbal skills of all time.  Likely worse than the verbal skills of rural people 200 years ago!
