Tulsa - A nine-month-old boy who was rushed to a Tulsa hospital after a near drowning Wednesday morning has now died.
Police say James Dawson died Thursday.
The near drowning happened at about 9:45 a.m. at the Yacht Club Apartment Homes, located just north of 51st Street on Toledo. Officials said the child's mother told them she was washing dishes in the kitchen while her 19-month-old child was taking a shower and that the nine-month old was outside of the tub.
"When she went in to check on the children, the child taking the shower, that's when she found the nine month old infant outside of the tub in a puddle of water and it was lifeless and breathless at that point," said Tulsa Fire Department spokesperson Bill French.
The child was not breathing and had no pulse when he was rushed to Saint Francis Hospital.
The investigation into the incident continues.
