Ada - More than twenty people have been arrested after a crack cocaine bust in southern Oklahoma.
A lengthy undercover investigation netted two dozen arrests in Ada and Pauls Valley early Wednesday morning.
Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics Spokesperson Mark Woodward says investigators and law enforcement agents have been working together in targeting an organization responsible for trafficking large quantities of crack cocaine in southern Oklahoma.
"During the course of the investigation which initially started in 1999, we identified a primary "crack" cocaine source in Fort Worth, Texas," Woodward said. "We also identified several local drug dealers responsible for distributing the cocaine from Fort Worth into communities throughout Pontotoc, Garvin, Murray, Carter and Wagoner counties."
Woodward says the primary target of the investigation, Jeffrey Scott of Fort Worth, Texas, was arrested two weeks ago.
Pontotoc County DA Charles Ross says he will prosecute the case as a conspiracy.
