Tulsa - The Tulsa Talons have signed three players for the inaugural season of Arena Football 1.
The players should all sound familiar. Quarterback Justin Allgood, receiver Jeff Hughley and linebacker Jamar Ransom were star players for the Talons last season.
Allgood passed for an Arena Football 2 record 108 touchdowns in 2009. He completed 65-percent of his passes for 4,312 yards while tossing only 17 interceptions. Over the past two and a half seasons, Allgood has a 37-and-5 record as a starter.
Hughley also shattered records last season, breaking the single-season league marks for all-purpose yardage (4,113) and kick return yards (2,069). He also broke several team receiving records, including 140 catches for 1,909 yards and 50 touchdowns.
Ransom, a former Oklahoma State Cowboy, was the team's leading tackler for the past two seasons. He was named to the All Conference first team after making 92.5 total tackles, including 70 solo stops, six and a half behind the line of scrimmage and one and a half sacks. He also intercepted a team-high six passes and recovered five fumbles.
?With the emergence of the new Arena Football One League, these players along with others are going to be given an opportunity to showcase their talents on the largest stage of Arena Football in the country,? said Head Coach Mitch Allner.
The Talons are one of sixteen teams in the newly formed league which has its league offices in Tulsa and will begin play next season.
