Tulsa - Tulsa police say the death of a nine-month-old child is now being investigated as a homicide.
Police spokesperson Leland Ashley confirmed to NewsChannel 8 that James Dawson's death is being classified as homicide.
Paramedics were called to the Yacht Club Apartments near 51st and Toledo on the morning of November 11th. Police said the child's mother told them she was washing dishes in the kitchen while her 19-month-old son was taking a shower and that the nine-month-old was outside the tub.
"When she went in to check on the children, the child taking the shower, that's when she found the nine month old infant outside of the tub in a puddle of water and it was lifeless and breathless at that point," said Tulsa Fire Department spokesperson Bill French.
The child wasn't breathing and had no pulse when he was taken to Saint Francis Hospital. He died a day later.
No further details were released about how the child died.
No arrests have been made in the case.
