Tulsa, OK - Is it is possible to negotiate a better price on those big ticket items this year?

We put it to the test with some help from Tulsa Kids Magazine.  Caroline Shaw did some bargain hunting at Target, Wal-Mart, Best Buy and Ultimate Electronics.

We contacted all four companies to ask about their policies.  Target and Wal-Mart say the only negotiating they do is matching any printed ad from a local competitor but not online ads.  Best Buy will also price match any local printed ad.  They told us they would also negotiate, but refused to elaborate on the process.  We got no response from Ultimate Electronics.

I bought several larger ticket items at Best Buy last month and asked if they would give me a discount...without blinking an eye the nice sales guy dropped the prices of all the items in my cart...saved me at least $100.

Doesn't hurt to ask..if you don't you may lose out on some good deals.
