Tulsa - DeMarco Murray scored two touchdowns and the Oklahoma defense posted one of its most dominating performances, spoiling Oklahoma State's chance at a BCS bowl game with a 27-0 rout of the Cowboys Saturday in Norman.

It was a very sloppy game early, with each team fumbling the ball multiple times.

Oklahoma (7-5, 5-3 Big 12 Conference) allowed just 106 total offensive yards to the Cowboys, including just 62 rushing yards. Oklahoma State (9-3, 6-2) had come into the game as the Big 12's leading rush offense.

It was a definite reversal of roles as Oklahoma rushed for 143 yards and a pair of scores, even after losing Trent Williams earlier in the week. Williams was the only returning offensive line starter from last year's team.

The rag-tag offensive line for the Sooners gave redshirt freshman Landry Jones time enough to complete 20-of-37 passes for 224 yards.

After a scoreless first quarter, Oklahoma got on the board first on a 24-yard field goal by Patrick O'Hara. Three minutes later, Murray scored the first of his two touchdowns on a 13-yard run.

The Sooners led 10-0 at halftime. The busiest man on the Oklahoma State sideline was punter Quinn Sharp. Sharp punted the ball nine times in the first half and 14 times overall.

In the second half, the Sooners added another short field goal from O'Hara for a 13-0 advantage. Then, late in the third, Jonathan Nelson intercepted OSU quarterback Zac Robinson and returned it to the 13 yard line.

Two plays later, Murray scored to push the lead to 20-0.

Ryan Broyles capped the scoring in the fourth quarter when he took a punt at the 13 yard line, raced down the left sideline, then back to the right 87 yards for a touchdown.

Broyles was definitely the big man on campus Saturday. The sophomore from Norman had nine receptions for 103 yards and returned eight punts for 209 yards.

OSU's Robinson was visibly not 100-percent for the Cowboys. Two weeks separated from a shoulder injury, Robinson completed just 9-of-21 passes for 44 yards and was intercepted once. He was also contained when it came to the run, rushing eight times for negative two yards. He was sacked twice.

The shutout was the first in the Bedlam series since Oklahoma State shut out the Sooners 12-0 in 1995. Oklahoma's last shutout in the series came in 1993.

With no Big 12 title game for either team, both the Sooners and Cowboys now await to find out where they'll be heading.

For Oklahoma State, it could be the Cotton Bowl and a match-up with former head coach Les Miles and the LSU Tigers. For the Sooners, it could be a strange Sun Bowl match-up against Southern California.
