Tulsa - Down by 13 in the second half, Southern Nazarene mounted a furious comeback, rallying to tie the game with 90 seconds remaining. But, Trevecca Nazarene pulled out the win with a single free throw.
With seven seconds left, freshman center J.P. Nyadaro knocked down one of two free throws for the Trojans (7-1) and Southern Nazarene's final shot was blocked to preserve the 71-70 win.
Trevecca raced out to an 11-4 lead before SNU put together a run to cut the lead to 21-20 with 6:47 remaining in the half. But, the Trojans responded wtih an 11-0 run over the next two minutes.
TNU led 35-29 at halftime.
The Trojans came out in the second half with a second 11-4 run to push the lead to 46-33 with 17:36 left in the game.
The lead was nine when the Crimson Storm put together a 10-1 run to knot the score at 62-62. It was 70-70 with time winding down when Nyadaro was fouled with seven seconds remaining.
Nyadaro led TNU with 17 points.
Southern Nazarene (5-2) had four players in double figures, led by A.J. Thomas' 14. Xavier Alexander scored 13 and had 11 rebounds. Vladimir Bulut and Daniel White each scored 12.
The Crimson Storm will return to Bethany for Thursday night's conference opener against John Brown at 8 p.m.
