Everyone needs to stop acting like the inmates are the "victims" because they are in prison as a result of their own actions. The consequences aren't tough enough so the prisons keep filling up. Its time for people to realize that you are responsible for your own actions. There comes a time and a place where you need to stop using your childhood, your race, or your drug use as a crutch. I've seen the lowest of the low pull themselves out of a rut because they were tired of living that way.

mrywilley you are so correct i mean why would we wanna teach criminals anything diffrent than what they already know lets just put em in a box for x amount of years miles and miles away from families make the phone calls cost an absurd amount of money for the single moms to pay and when their sentence is up let the criminals back out onto the streets with only the skills that they had before you know the ones that landed them in prison and hope that its not me or you that they rob next time(note the sarcasm)

joucies I agree with you 100% on your comment, and was quit surprised by it because most that comment on any thing that has to do with inmates are negative and or sarcastic. I am an advocate for many causes and one of them are for inmates. There is no reform for them in the prisons and the prisons with the strict laws are busting at the seams. There are not enough good correction officers to fill the positions that the prisons have now, and adding more bed space is not the solution to the on going problems. These men and women need a chance to better them selves and come out of prison with a good out look on life instead of anger from they way they are treated within the prisons.

I could think of a hundred different charities to give $27,000 to besides prison inmates. That money could get a lot of toys for underprivileged kids this season or feed the elderly. These people are in prison by their own actions. Too bad the prison system is against the chain gang. If hard labor was the consequence then perhaps it would deter alot of the criminal element.

That is wonderful. You know tomorrow they will be our neighbors and I want them to be able to make a decent living so that he or she doesn't have to go back to committing crimes to get by. Thank you AT&T
