Convoy Of Trucks Respond To Oklahoma Ice Storm

Utility crews from all over the country are making big strides in restoring power to the area. NewsChannel 8's Burt Mummolo met up with the convoy to thank them for what they're doing. The statewide number of outages continues to drop. Locally, the number has now dropped below 180-thousand. That means since the height of the outages, more than 46-thousand people have had their power restored, just in the Tulsa metro area.
Crews are working as fast as they can, but half the battle is just getting there.

Honey, You just may miss our first Christmas while serving the communities in Oklahoma BUT I want you to know I am proud of you and your fellow crew men. I am very very proud of you and I want everyone to know this is what Christmas is about anyway. It is a celebration of the most wonderful gift given to the world. I feel humbled to know what disaster can do to a community being an Army vet and a native of New Orleans La. In the end everyone must be very thankful for what we take advantage of from day to day. God Bless everyone in Oklahoma and I will have a huge hot pot of gumbo for my love and his crew when you all return.
