Tulsa - Many questions remain about the suicide of a Tulsa teenager.
He was an 8th grader at Edison Preparatory school
He shot himself early Wednesday morning at his home.
School officials also tell us they intervened to stop another student from taking their life yesterday.
Since January three students at Edison have committed suicide.
TPS superintendent Dr. Keith Ballard calls it a critical situation.
This week's suicide of an 8th Grade boy at at Edison Prep has parents, students, and teachers asking questions about a possible suicide pact.
“We know there was talk of suicide but to what extent we don't know yet.” said Dr. Ballard
But with Edison's third suicide in only one calendar year the T-P-S crisis intervention teams has shifted into high gear.
Prevention is job one.
“We have made many, many phone calls to families we have concern for.” said Teena Witzell TPS Counselor
But the question remains, what would drive a young person to take such extreme and irreversible actions.
“There are quite a few things some can be obvious others are completely hidden.” said John Block Child Psychiatrist
Best advice for parents keep informed and keep aware.
“Be in touch don't let those lines of communication come closed.”
Counselors have been working with students and staff at Edison for the past several days.
Additional help will also be made available after the holiday break.
