ORU's Hensley Qualifies For U.S. Amateur

Posted: Updated:

ORU junior golfer Amber Hensley has qualified for the U.S. Women's Amateur Championship after finishing in a six-way tie atop the leaderboard at the Kansas City Country Club Tuesday.

Hensley shot a 3-over 73 and qualified despite bogeying three of the final four holes.

The U.S. Amateur Championship will be held at Charlotte Country Club in Charlotte, North Carolina from August 8th through 15th.

Hensley is the reigning Summit League Tournament champion, having helped the Golden Eagles to a 13th consecutive conference crown this year.

A two-time all-Summit League performer, Hensley was also the 2009 Summit League Newcomer of the Year.

Fellow ORU golfers Crystal Reeves, Kylie Bollenbach and Eve Santillan competed in the qualifying in Kansas City but failed to advance.
