Oilers Ice Girls Auditions Coming July 31st

Posted: Updated:

The Tulsa Oilers Ice Girls will be holding auditions for the upcoming season on Saturday, July 31st, the team announced this week.

There will be two sessions. The first -- a skating session -- will be held in the morning at the Oilers Ice Center at 64th and Mingo with registration starting at 9:30 a.m. The second is an afternoon dance session at Gold's Gym at 71st Street and 145th East Avenue in Broken Arrow. It will begin at 1:30 p.m.

The Oilers Ice Girls have been around for only two seasons, but Oilers General Manager Taylor Hall says they've become an integral part of the team's entertainment presentation and it's hard to imagine what an Oilers game would be like without them now.

There is a 20-dollar registration fee for the auditions and applicants must be 18 years old by July 31st. Those interested should bring a headshot photograph as well as proof of age.

"We'll be looking for ladies that have a good personality and aren't shy about meeting the public," Ice Girl coordinator Jessica Barrett said. "Along with the skating and dancing, interacting with our fans is the most important part of being an Oilers Ice Girl."
