The Oral Roberts mens and womens basketball teams will compete in scrimmages next month, the school announced Wednesday.

The ORU women will scrimmage October 26th at 7 p.m. at the Mabee Center at 81st and Lewis.

ORU led the nation in scoring last season behind the exploits of a pair of freshmen. Kevi Luper and Jaci Bigham were the most explosive scoring duo in the country, averaging a combined 41.5 points per contest.

Luper was the Summit League Player of the Year after averaging 24.4 points, 5.2 rebounds, and an NCAA-best 4.5 steals per game.

Bigham averaged 17.1 points, which was second-best in the Summit League, and led the team and conference with 99 three-pointers made. She was also second in the league, knocking down better than 42-percent of her 3-point attempts.

The men will scrimmage on October 29th, also at 7 p.m.

The Golden Eagles return Dominique Morrison, Michael Craion and Ken Holdman, who each started 28 or more games last season. Morrison averaged a team-best 15.3 points per game while Craion was second at 13.3 points per contest.

Sophomore Warren Niles also returns after having started 18 games as a freshman, averaging 12.8 points per game, including an ORU freshman record 39 against IUPUI. Kyron Stokes also started 17 games for the Golden Eagles as a sophomore.

The men will open the season with a pair of exhibition games against Drury (Nov. 2) and Rogers State (Nov. 6) before starting the regular season November 12th at Missouri State.

The women begin the regular season November 12th against UT-Arlington in the TTCU Best Field Trip Ever tournament at the Mabee Center.
