Denver, CO -
Former Tulsa Drillers star Troy Tulowitzki will remain a Colorado Rockies player for a LONG time after inking a 10-year, 157.75-million dollar contract on Tuesday.
It's the eighth-largest contract in baseball history and is a seven-year extension of his current contract, which had three years remaining.
"I'm really lucky," the All-Star shortstop said. "I can't wait to be here my entire career."
Tulowitzki spent the 2006 season in Tulsa, playing in 104 games and batting .291 with 13 home runs and 61 runs batted in. He was the Rockies' Minor League Player of the Year that season and played in the All-Star Futures Game.
'Tulo' spent a few days back in a Drillers uniform this summer as part of a rehab assignment following a left wrist injury that sidelined him for more than a month.
When he returned to the major leagues, he tore up the National League, hitting an amazing 14 home runs in a span of 15 days in September.
He finished the season tops among major league shortstops in home runs (27), runs batted in (95) and batting average (.315) and finished fifth in the voting for National League MVP.
