Former University of Tulsa guard Ben Uzoh is now a Springfield Armor.
Uzoh, a rookie, was sent to the Development League affiliate of the New Jersey Nets Tuesday, the club announced.
Uzoh signed with the Nets as an un-drafted free agent. Through hard work, he turned a summer league invitation into a non-guaranteed training camp deal.
The Nets liked him so much he ended up making the cut and has played in 32 games this season, averaging 3.4 points, 1.5 rebounds and 1.4 assists in just over nine minutes of action per game.
His best game came last month in a loss at Houston in which he scored 18 points.
"I feel like I've been doing a good job here," Uzoh says. "But I think they want to get me playing, just to showcase myself and get me better, because I can't get better if I don't have game-like reps and things like that. I think we're on the same page as far as seeing me continue to grow."
"We're looking forward to adding Ben to our roster," said Armor head coach Dee Brown. "Ben is skilled on both ends of the floor and will be a great addition to our lineup."
In Springfield, he'll team up with former Oklahoma State star JamesOn Curry, who averages 16.6 points per game. The Armor are 11-and-31, in sixth place in the East Conference of the D-League.
