Indian Settlement

Posted: Updated:

500,000 Indians across the United States, and here in Oklahoma could be eligible for hundreds of dollars in settlement money.

A meeting held in southwest Tulsa Wednesday night helped get the word out.

Basically, it's all part of a class action lawsuit involving Indian land leased by the government.

The plaintiffs claim they didn't get all of the money they were promised for farming, drilling, mining, and timber sales.

Under the three-point-four billion dollar settlement-- those who qualify-- can receive $500 or even more.

Otherwise, you can opt-out of the settlement and sue the government.
