TU's Kinard Tosses Third Career No-Hitter

Senior pitcher Jordan Kinard pitched her third career no-hitter Saturday as Tulsa completed a doubleheader sweep of Southern Miss at the Hardesty Sports Complex in Tulsa.

Kinard threw just 59 pitches in the 8-0 victory, walking just one batter while striking out three.

"Jordan was amazing," said head coach John Bargfeldt. "She had pretty good command on both sides on the plate. Any time you can stay on the edges of the plate and change speeds as well as she does, then you'll be awfully tough to hit."

The no-no is Kinard's first since tossing a pair of them in her freshman season in 2008. It's also the fourth no-hitter of the season for the University of Tulsa. The others have come from freshman Aimee Creger.

Tulsa is now 31-and-9 overall and 12-2 in Conference USA. The Golden Hurricane will complete their three-game series with Southern Miss Sunday at noon.
