
New University of Tulsa women's head basketball coach Matilda Mossman nabbed her first recruit with the announcement today that Kadan Brady to a national letter of intent.
The 5'9" guard averaged 22.7 points, 12.1 rebounds, seven steals and seven assists as a senior at Healdton. Her steals and assists totals led the state.
For her efforts, she was named all-Oklahoma Girls Basketball Coaches Association, all-Oklahoma Coaches Association and all-region and was also a McDonalds All-American nominee.
Basketball was not the only sports she excelled at. She also earned all-state in softball and holds several Class 2A state records in track.
"I think with Kadan we are getting an exceptional athlete who has a very strong work ethic," Mossman said. "She has spent her career playing multiple sports and it is a great benefit to her to come here and focus on just one sport."
Mossman expects Brady to play the shooting guard or small forward position and says she will fit in well with the perimeter players the team already has.
"She is probably the most hard-working, determined player I've ever coached," says Healdton coach Jeff Brown said. "There isn't anything she can't achieve when she sets her mind to it. She is going to bring a good, hard-working attitude to Tulsa and she'll prove herself as a freshman because she will work harder than anyone."
Tulsa finished last season 5-and-20, but return more than 83-percent of the team's scoring, including leading scorer Taleya Mayberry (15.0 ppg).
