Freshman Aimee Creger tossed a complete game two-hit shutout Saturday as Tulsa took over sole possession of first place in Conference USA with a 1-0 win over UAB at the Hardesty Complex in Tulsa.

The Golden Hurricane (37-12 overall, 16-5 Conference USA) got the game's only run in the bottom of the first when Everett led off with a double, advanced to third on a throwing error and scored on a sacrifice fly by Samantha Cobb.

From there, it was all Creger, who struck out seven and walked only one to improve to 19-and-2.

Shelby Blanton had two of Tulsa's seven hits.

Tulsa took two of three in the series against the Blazers to take a game and a half lead on UAB and Houston in the conference.

The Golden Hurricane have just four games remaining in the regular season. First, they'll go out of league play to take on Missouri State Wednesday on Senior Night. Then, they'll wrap up the regular season with a three-game series at UTEP beginning next Friday.
