
The University of Tulsa men's golf team fell out of first place Tuesday, falling to third at the Conference USA Men's Golf Championships at Texarkana Country Club in Texarkana, Texas.
The Golden Hurricane began the day with a three-stroke lead over Memphis. But, TU shot a final round 3-over 291 while Central Florida shot a tournament-best 8-under 280 in Tuesday's final round to vault from third to first.
Memphis finished second, two shots behind the Knights. Tulsa was at four-over, six strokes back.
Leading the way for Tulsa was John Young Kim, who finished fourth at four-under after a final round even par 72. He entered the final round tied with Memphis' Jonathan Fly, who earned medalist honors at 7-under.
TU's Johannes Veerman finished tied for fifth at 2-under. Stephen Carney tied for 16th at two-over, Chris Worrell tied for 34th at 8-over and Arie Fauzi tied for 45th at 14-over.
