Waiting Child Jonathon

Posted: Updated:

NewsChannel 8's Carole Lambert took our waiting child, Jonathon, to Premier Popcorn on South Harvard.  Owner Tom Phillips made it so much fun for  Jonathon to enjoy a behind the scenes visit.  This 9 year old, soon to be 10, was amazed at the more than 32 varieties of popcorn that he could try there.

Jonathon is a terrific kid.  He's in the 3rd grade and does benefit from an individual education plan to assist him in a couple of areas.  He likes school and enjoys working with numbers.
"My favorite thing to study is math.  I'm really good at math."

And, Jonathon has a wide range of interests outside the classroom.  Whether sports, video games, riding his bike or swimming, he stays active.  He enjoys building things with his leggos.. and spends hours playing with his hot wheel collection.  He loves reading about cars.

"Those kind of hot wheel books that I want to get at the library, at the real library and not at the school library because they don't have that kind."

Jonathon is on medication to help him with his ADHD and has some hearing loss in one ear.

DHS hopes to find permanent parents who will give this personable child a lot of attention, encouragement.. and of course love.  Jonathon says he'd like a mom and dad who will take him to church.. and just.. in his words, be nice to him.
Please call OKDHS for more information about Jonathon.  The number is 918-581-2033.
