Eight Drillers had two hits each in an 11-2 rout of Springfield Saturday at ONEOK Field.
The Drillers erupted for five runs in the bottom of the first inning, including a two-run single by Scott Beerer, RBI doubles by Darin Holcomb and Michael Mitchell and a run-scoring single by Thomas Field.
Tulsa added another run in the fourth, two in the fifth and three in the sixth to complete the rout.
Rob Scahill benefited from all the runs, evening his record at 3-and-3, allowing one run on four hits in seven innings. Keith Weiser pitched the eighth and ninth, allowing one run in the ninth.
With the win, Tulsa's regained its lead in the Texas League North Division standings thanks to a doubleheader sweep by Arkansas at Northwest Arkansas.
The Drillers and Cardinals will continue their series Sunday at 2:05 p.m.
