Winiecki's Diving Grab Featured On ESPN's SportsCenter

Posted: Updated:

Oral Roberts center fielder Joey Winiecki found himself getting national attention after making an incredible diving play in ORU's regional championship game against Dallas Baptist Monday night.

Winiecki's play was No. 9 on ESPN's Top Plays Monday night on SportsCenter.

The senior outfielder made the play in the sixth inning of Monday night's game, keeping a potential Patriot off the basepaths. The play was needed as the Golden Eagles found themselves in an 8-0 hole in the top of the first inning.

Oral Roberts nearly pulled off the comeback, but had its season come to an end with the 11-9 setback.

Winiecki, the team's leadoff hitter, also went 2-for-4 and scored twice in his final game in a Golden Eagle uniform.
