Des Moines, IA -

Tulsa sophomore Chris O'Hare will look to become the Golden Hurricane's first NCAA All-American in the 1500 meters when he competes Saturday in the finals of the event at the NCAA Track and Field Championships in Des Moines, Iowa.

O'Hare is one of eleven qualifiers for the event, finishing with the third best qualifying time of 3:43.03 -- just 57-hundredths of a second behind the leader, Arkansas' Dorian Ulrey.

O'Hare, an Edinburgh, Scotland native, ran a personal best and TU record 3:42.54 in April's John McDonnell Invitational.

Saturday's event final will be contested at 12:30 p.m.
