Thunder's 3OT Victory Named NBA's Game of the Year

Posted: Updated:

Oklahoma City's 133-123 triple-overtime victory over the Memphis Grizzlies in the NBA's Western Conference semifinals was named Wednesday by the NBA as the league's game of the year.

In the list, compiled on NBA.com, the Thunder's Game 4 victory at Memphis which tied the series at two games apiece, topped all others.

In the game, Oklahoma City, down 2-games-to-1, trailed by a dozen points after the first quarter and 18 in the second quarter before putting together a huge second half, taking a ten-point fourth quarter lead.

But, Memphis rallied themselves, forcing overtime on Mike Conley's 3-pointer with 3.5 seconds left. Greivis Vasquez forced a second overtime with another trey with 10 seconds remaining on the clock and the third OT saw Oklahoma City fight back to tie on Russell Westbrook's step-back jumper with 30 seconds left.

The Thunder would end the third overtime with eight straight points to capture the win, which helped them even the series, one they'd later take in seven games.

Oklahoma City's 112-105 overtime loss to Dallas in the Western Conference Finals was the third best game on the NBA's list. The Mavericks rallied from 15 points down in the fourth quarter to take the game and eventually the series and later the NBA title.
