Fire Weather Alert Issued For Eastern Oklahoma

A fire weather alert has been issued for much of eastern Oklahoma through 9 p.m. Tuesday night.

It comes as several fires have been reported across the state, including two massive fires in the Tulsa area that destroyed homes and caused evacuations.

A very high fire danger will persist across the area.

The counties in Oklahoma under the fire weather alert include: Adair, Cherokee, Choctaw, Craig, Creek, Delaware, Haskell, Latimer, Le Flore, Mayes, McIntosh, Muskogee, Nowata, Okfuskee, Okmulgee, Osage, Ottawa, Pawnee, Pittsburg, Pushmataha, Rogers, Sequoyah, Tulsa, Wagoner, and Washington.
