Police have arrested a man they say shot and killed two people outside a busy Tulsa convenience store Tuesday night.
Officers took Zane Atchison into custody at about 8:30 a.m. Wednesday morning following a short pursuit. Investigators had been looking for Atchison when a report of an auto-theft with a suspect description matching Atchison was broadcast.
Officers saw the stolen truck near 71st and Riverside and chased the driver to 79th and South Wheeling, where they say Atchison abandoned the vehicle and ran away. After a short foot chase, officers arrested Atchison.
Atchison is suspected in the killings of 27-year-old Patrick Shawn and 24-year-old Kaylyn Kosofsky. The two were found shot to death just east of 71st and Riverside Tuesday evening around 8 p.m.
Police say it appears Atchison met the victims in a nearby church parking lot and minutes later, fired shots into their car, striking them both. Witnesses say Atchison then pulled Shawn out of the car and left the body next to his motorcycle, then parked the victim's car behind the church.
Atchison is expected to be booked into the Tulsa County Jail this morning on two complaints of first-degree murder.
